About the Speakers

Clinic 1:

Anthony Sum is a distance running trainer whose passion for running began in 2004 in a bid to overhaul his unhealthy lifestyle. After spending time doing marathon and endurance races in Singapore and overseas, Anthony brought his knowledge and experience to train groups of adults in the sport of distance running and marathon-ing.

To back his cause with relevant sports knowledge, Anthony has acquired a specialist diploma in Sports & Exercise Science at the Republic Polytechnic. Anthony is also a registered coach with the Singapore Sports Council (SSC) National Registry of Coaches (NROC) having acquired Levels 1 and 2 (Theory) of the National Coaching Accreditation Programme (NCAP). Anthony is also a qualified IAAF Youth Coach of track and field events, including long-distance running.

Anthony believes that distance running is a very optimal form of exercise as well as a sport in which character and discipline can be harnessed. He hopes to see a lot more runners get proper training and guidance to better prepare for the rigors of the discipline, which can only lead our community and nation to Run For A Better Life!
